Reasons I Keep Coming Back to Norway (And Why Should You Visit)

1. Mountains

I come from a country where the highest hill is 312 m high, so you can understand my fascination with mountains. And Norway is full of them. There are around 600 mountains in Norway. And they are all around the country in all sizes and shapes. When you travel around in the time when seasons change, you can travel across the country and see snowy mountains, orange Iceland-like mountains (read about my experience in Iceland here), rocky mountains and even some greenish mountains. You can choose a mountain based on your level of hiking experience. Just go and explore.

Norwegians are pretty obsessed with hiking themselves so you wouldn’t have any problems finding a hiking map, some road signs or suggestions from the locals. Continue reading

Malta: hot, bright and unique.

Ok, guys. We (here in Latvia) are on a lock-down because of the Coronavirus starting from the 17th of March. But you know what? All those movies you never had time to watch, and books that keept on piling up just to read them later and all the travels you had no time to plan ahead of time are now casting a shadow on you and whispering in your ear: no more excuses. You have plenty of time now.

Yes, this is a crazy time all over the world, but it does not mean that you will never be able to travel again, does it? So just consider this a time to lay low and explore the world through the magic of the internet. And you might find your dream destination for your next vacation when this is all over.

This evening I just want to share some main things I found the most interesting about Malta.

So are you already planing your travels for 2020? Is Spain one of your dream destinations? Or are you just curious about what to do there for a short period of time? Then read ahead!

1. Rent a Car.

In case you enjoy nature more than cities and do not want to spend your days in the crowded city of Barcelona, you should rent a car. This will give you a chance to get to the mountains and enjoy the view from wherever your heart wants to. We used Centauro car rent that had fairly small prices and nice cars. But little did we know that the office is not located at the airport. You must take a shuttle. And it took us almost 3 hours just to stand in the line to get a car we had reserved and paid for in advance. So if you are looking for a cheap option – they are the choice for you. However, if you value your time over money –  check the locations for car rents in advance. The ones located in the airport usually have shorter lines too.

5 Ways To Stay Safe Traveling Solo

We could all do with a break now and then, but there always seem to be something in the way. One of the most common excuses people give for not traveling is that they don’t have anyone to go with them. Thankfully, you can just as easily head off on your own. Solo travel is fun, freeing, and one of the best ways to see the world. Unfortunately, many people avoid traveling alone out of fear for their safety. With that in mind, here are four ways you can stay safe traveling solo. Yes, it is fun to travel with someone, but when you travel solo, it is a different kind of freedom. You can plan your own time, you don’t have to be worried about being late, you can see the places you wanna see. There is no one you have to answer to.

Why A Road Trip Is A Great Way To Travel

When our Argentinian friend came to visit us in Latvia for the third time, we knew that it means one thing. A road trip is in order.

When it comes to travel, most people seem to go for the default option of traveling by plane, and whilst this certainly makes sense in a lot of ways and definitely helps you get there a lot faster, it’s also not the only option to get you where you need to go, so if you’ve ever considered the idea of going on a road trip then in this post I am going to share with you some of the reasons why a road trip is a great way to travel – especially for longer distances. Even though Latvia is small, we consider a way from Riga to Liepaja a legit road trip.
